TRAINING QUESTIONS

  • How are The Run Experience Programs different to other training programs?

    The Run Experience programs are complete training plans. That means you are walked through everything you need to do and you will learn the how and the why of all the widely varied drills and workouts.

    We train our runners as athletes. Every runner is unique and our goals, abilities and needs vary. Spreadsheets are great. But they don’t account for the many variables that most of us encounter within any given training phase.

    This is all about you.

    You won’t just be physically prepared for your race, but you will also learn to optimize your recovery and mobility, assess potential injuries and address them, among a host of other skills you’ll refine as you learn to tune into your body.

  • There are so many choices! How do I choose?

    Yes, there is a lot!  We aim to provide training and supplemental programs to meet the needs of all our runners in various situations and stages of experience.  We also have supplemental programs to complement some of the full training plans or to use as a stand-alone and add as needed into your existing routine. These are great for in between races or during an off season so you don’t lose all the hard work you have invested in your training.

    Assess your goals. What do you want to achieve? By what date do you want to accomplish your goal(s)?

    We are here to support you. When you purchase a program or sign up for a Training Club membership, you are a Run Experience runner and your goals are important to us. Helping you choose the path to get there and supporting you along the way is the reason we are here.

  • What is the 30 Day Challenge?

    Our training plans are designed to be flexible to help our runners of varying abilities and levels of experience achieve their goals.  The focus is on the principles behind the training and putting the recipe together for a healthy, strong and successful runner. If you usually run more days a week or higher mileage than your program prescribes, you can add in additional running days or just add the extra miles to bring you to where you are comfortable.

    We have members ranging from beginners to very advanced and talented athletes who enjoy great success following the same program.  If you need help getting started with adaptations like this, please contact us by emailing help@therunexperience.com and one of us will be more than happy to get you set up.  You can also post on the Facebook Group.

    We would strongly encourage you to keep the main focus of the workouts for any given day incorporated into your run though.  If you have drills within the day’s run you really want to keep them in there. The training plans have been carefully crafted by our coaches and each workout is strategically planned and placed where it is for a purpose to produce optimal results.

    For strength training you will see that many of our workouts offer alternatives to accommodate you if you are returning from injury, find the moves too difficult or if you are just a super hero and want to go for the advanced option.

  • How long do I have to stay in the Training Club?

    You can move in and enjoy it permanently. Or you can cancel at any time. There is no minimum subscription period.

  • Is there an app? I want to use the videos on the go!

    Yes there is!  And it’s free. You can find it here: Mobile app

  • Is the app really free?

    Yes it is! We put a ton of free training videos on there for you to enjoy on the go. If you sign up for one of our programs or memberships, you’ll be able to log in on the app and access your workouts there for those too.

  • If I buy a training plan can I get my paid programs on the app?

    Absolutely!  If you go to the menu bar at the top left of the screen and scroll midway through the dropdown box, you will see a Member Login area. Once you are logged in you can access any of your purchased programs on the go. A coach right in your pocket, complete with videos!

  • What if I buy a program and it’s not right for me?

    If you realize you need a different program and you want to change it, we can do that for you. Please refer to our Refund Policy below.  We can also help guide you if you are still unsure of the right program for your needs.

  • I’m injured and can’t commit to a training program right now.

    Well it’s a good thing you are here!  We have a ton of resources within our Training Club for dealing with injuries and giving you the tools and knowledge to learn how to assess a pre-injured state so you can work on it before it takes you out.

  • I can’t find the answer I’m looking for on this page.

Website/Membership Questions

  • My password doesn’t work

    Have you purchased a program from us or joined the Training Club? If you just want to access the free material on the mobile app and the website, you do not need to sign in to use these.

    They are there for you to enjoy. It’s that simple.   

  • What is the refund policy?

    Purchased Programs

    When you purchase a program from us it is yours to keep forever. Just like we promise. If you decide for any reason that you do not want to keep your program, we offer a 365 day Satisfaction Money Back Guarantee and we honor our promise.

    If you decide it is not for you, please send us an email to help@therunexperience.com Please note that if we issue a refund, you will not be able to access your training plan with immediate effect upon cancellation.

    Monthly subscriptions

    If you have a monthly subscription to the Training Club or the Weekly Running Tuneup, you can contact us at any time to cancel your membership. We do not typically refund any payments from subscription based memberships because you have access to everything within your member portal from the day your account is activated. We also understand that there are times you want to take a break from training and sometimes life just happens.

    Can I really cancel any time?

    We want you to get the best possible value out of your program and if you need some time out, we can cancel for you and any time you are ready to resume training you can just contact us again to have everything reactivated for you.

  • What if I buy the wrong product and only realize after I log in?

    If you purchase the wrong program or you change your mind and realize a different plan is more suitable, please contact us. We want you to enjoy your training with us. We can help you get this changed so that you have the right program for your needs, abilities and goals right now.

  • What kind of base do I need to start one of the programs?

    That depends on the program you want to use. Some of our smaller programs work beautifully as a supplemental program to any of our more full training plans.

    These are guidelines only and within reason, you can modify your training to suit, depending on your goals.

  • Where do I find your Terms and Conditions?

    You can find them right here. If you are unclear about any of our policies, please let us know. We operate on a transparent basis and want to communicate openly and clearly with you.

  • What do you need from me if I want to cancel or get a refund?

    You can view your account through the My Account tab on your page when you have a membership with us.

Mobile App (new iOS version)

  • What are the features of the new app?

    -New single workouts every week to improve your run form, run faster or longer, and stay injury-free

    -Weekly and monthly challenges, i.e. burpee challenge, run cadence challenge, live program challenges to keep yourself motivated and accountable

    -GPS tracking for runs to see how far (and fast) you went!

    -Follow-along workout format: Push start and let the timers and demo videos guide you through. Have a coach work out with you!

    -Interactive, fully guided programs from 5k to Marathon, beginner to 30 day challenge, Strength & Injury Prevention to eliminate all guesswork!

  • Is my phone supported?

    Currently, this app version is only available for the iOS Apple platform, but the Android version is scheduled for release later this fall.

  • Does the app cost anything?

    Nope! Everyone can download the app and access all our free content, including our 2-week Quick Start Program, single follow-along workouts, and live challenges. 

    To access our full menu of Training Club programs, you will need a premium membership plan. Current Training Club members don’t need to subscribe to anything new.

  • I’m currently a Training Club member. Can I use the app?

    Yes! Your current subscription will give you premium access to the new app. All training programs, GPS tracking, and community support are included in your access.

  • I’m currently a Training Club member but my login doesn’t work.

    It’s possible that your Training Club username (email) is different than the email you used to log into the app. If so, you may be prompted to subscribe to the Training Club, even though you’re already a member.

    Try logging out of the app and then log in again with your Training Club username.
